Necromancer's Evolutionary Trait (manwha until chapter 82) - just a quick recap and a review of the title

Necromancer's Evolutionary Trait

An isekai genre where the mc gets transmigrated to a game he played. But instead of the start of the game story, he was from a few years before the story began. He became a lowly side character that is doomed to die early when the actual plot of the game starts. Mc had to do all he could in order to survive, all the while maintaining game knowledge, causing deviation from the plot of the game and also helping the main characters of the game (mc called them playable character).

Typical of the usual SAO genre, regression type but the main point of interest here is how the necromancer class is portrayed. Mc is made to be a magic swordsman since he can also use sword along side his black magic. Nevertheless, it is when mc does necromancy is when the story truly shines. From finding corpses, obtaining named/legenderay corpses, the failure/sucess process of resurrectibg strong corpses and the best part of all, a battlefield scene where the necromancer powers truly shines. Of the few titles I read that have the mc as a necromancer class, I think this title does justice to the said class.

Aside the necromancer class, there is also the evolution trait, this is confusing at the start but as the story proceeds we get to find out it's not just a simple matter and overall, this is a great thing to add to other magic fantasy genre whenever characters get power up. Maybe my knowledge for other similar power up system is very small but I think this one is very interesting.

story starts with mc being used as a servant of one the professor. take note, black magic and necromancy are taboo and would incur arrest and straight up execution once a blackmage/necromancer got found out. being still powerless and coming from a fallen noble family, mc had to obey his professor. mc having a system status window, mc picked his last trait evolution, with dual core (able to use aura and mana) his first. with the evolution trait, with enough mastery and if certain conditions get met, mc is able to evolve his skills and this also includes his summoned undeads.

mc knows the professor is just using him and in order to survive an early demise, mc had to stray further from his professor. mc first got his own legendary undead and with a bit of training he evolved it.

A lot has happened from start to the latest chapter, this involves mc meeting with characters whom are main characters/playable characters, bosses and character companions, mc helps them grow, this is out of necessity since it is partly his fault for deviating the plot of the game that some events happens earlier. And also because mc wants to be close to the playable characters, this ensures his survival (mc befriended/got acquianted with: lucia, dein, viviene, the actual maincharacter of the story, two swordsman characters, another swordsman character with a demonsword, and a support character who is amazing with magic circles, luna pendragon the happy death girl) mc is also taskes with finding the sins that will be something that unlock a potential magic bestowed on him (mc currently have, sloth and greed). mc restoring the loses his family got depraved off after their noble family fell, his first two things he did was potion crafting and next being renown in their academy. Facing different villains who are possible to defeat earlier on before the game story began and actually defeating them. finding corpses to add to his elite army (currenlt mc have: swordmaster, a weretiger?, a giant, a fairy and lastly a dragon). all this happening while keeping an upright and model student status in the academy and also incognito a main member of black mage association, the congregation (only few non congregation people knows about mc's identity)

latest chapter 82, mc and luna just got out of the dragon dungeon and mc just received the dragon corpse. mc also got blessed by an unknown deity that have yet to be unlocked once certain conditions are met. after mc left luna, mc head back to the academy. mc first met up with viviene who totally is crushing on mc, somehow mc is either just dense or just being the grown up here not seeing her as a woman. mc also received a letter inviting mc to join a meeting for the congregation.

meanwhile, evan the holy inquisitor got confronted by other holy knights and a bishop? apparently, after meeting mc, evan had doubts and had to leave the church. this is not taken well by the others and so evan got confronted. before a clash was to happen, a famous person appeared, maxwell? something the tower 25 finisher. apparently he wishes to see the god that evan saw. the manwha panel is indicating mc is the god. or perhaps it's misleading.

I Killed An Academy Player (manwha until chapter 53)

I Killed An Academy Player

This title is short for: I became the substitute main character for the game I was transmigratted to when I regressed right before finding out my bestfriend, the main player, has a yaoi sort of yandere feel towards me. So after I regressed, I immediately went and killed my bestfriend and took his role as the main character, all the while, righting the wrong that have happened in the my past life as a regressed extra. This attitude of mine came from how my beloved master taught me about being a good person and so I become one. But I still need to save this world.

I'M JOKING.

But seriously, this manwha is just amazing. I guess it's your standard regression type where things happening in the past getting altered also have a butterfly effect unknown to the mc. But thing is, the butterfly effect is something I as a reader is wanting to see, which is not common to regression manwha I've read. Probablu because the way the mc is portrayed is a bit different. mc is a free spirit but overall kind person. He does not hesitate to do seemingly bad? stuffs but mc always had a plan which is a typical mc protagonist of stories. But the thing that gets me want to see the deviation of the plot from the original story (before regression story and after regression story) is when the mc is aiming to gain something. e.g. gaining money from the before regression memory. But even so, although the mc had idea for the whole plot, mc always have a plan to what would next and usually mc had a lot of over the top ideas.

story begins with mc getting isekai'd to a game and getting transmigrated to an extra character. mc have knowledge about the game itself but being an extra there are limitations and so mc sought the original protagonist. mc found out the protagonist is also someone that got isekai'd and got transmigrated. And so after becoming friends, the two sets off on a journey to finish the game. Unfortunately, as the story progressed mc is noticing something awkward from the game plot. upon investigation, the protagonist is secretly doing inhumane things to npc which made the gameplay for them easier but this is something mc cannot agree on. they had a bit of a fight, mc found out protagonist has a thing for mc and the protagonist is a yandere. mc got locked up. the protagnist planned on finishing the game alone while having other plan afterwards with mc. unfortunately, the game did not finished. apparently, the protagonist got defeated. suddenly, the whole world restarted. mc went back from the start of his transmigration 3 years ago and only he? have memories of what had happened.

after the regression, mc immediately set out to track the protagonist. mc found the protagonist still a low level and have serious personality issue. mc saves one of the main characters who was planned to be killed by the protagonist. mc also kills the protagonist. suddenly a system error occured, mc got granted a bit of the protagonist system but not everything. still this is a huge step up for mc. and so mc is tasked to be the substitute for the protagonist.

mc had to do different methods to power up and which is something not given to him even though he became the protagonist according to the system.

mc joins the academy in order to become stronger and gain ally.

quick recap of what happened:

mc got lowest score in the entrance exam and got a very low title despite being strong himself. this is because mc set disadvantages to himself in order to gain power. this disadvantages are like creeds/oaths: 1 mc will be kind and helpful to those in need 2 mc will not be able to perceive ghosts and spirits 3 mc had to save the world, as long as mc up hold this oath or this disadvantage is up, mc gains bonuses.

mc saves the first boss and gains her as an ally, the vampire mariette.

mc also got to form a dream team, although temporarily. mc met them during a practical exam.

mc beat one of the professor who is a spy from one of the big baddies.

mc gains a subordinate, the swordman alisha. a genius prodigy of the arden style swordsmanship.

mc gains connection with the higher ups of the school and this is without mc revealing he is a transmigrator and a regressor.

along the way, mc gain powerups thanks to his limitation with the system and the oaths he have.

mc saves a double personality boss, amd gains her as an ally, hwaran/hwa/ran, heavenly yaksha, jianxi.

mc gets to meet his master who is a copy form from a cursed scenario place. mc felt indebted to his master so much that even if the master he met is just a copy, mc promises to save her.

mc saves two wolf siblings from slave traders, they will become mid level boss later on but mc immediately got them under him.

mc after midterms got promoted from 5 rank to 1st rank immddiately. this is because of his strength as well his battle strategy.

last chapter read (53) mariette has an open crush to mc, she isn't afraid to show affection to mc but has troubling actually saying it, she has a bit of a yandere personality when mc gets approach or approaches other women. alisha has a secret crush? to mc which is why she does things for mc even though she doesn't want it. or maybe it's just her way of repaying mc for saving her life. and hwaran who is having a switch between hwa and ran shows affection towards mc.

mc just saved hwaran from the clutches of her uncle. and now that hwaran got like switch to go hwa/ran mode, she is showing her affection towards mc as ran, the one hidden all throughout the story.

Margrave's Bastard Son is the Emperor (manwha until chapter 60)

Margrave's Bastard Son is the Emperor

I never thought I'll be going through with this until the latest chapter. To be honest, I was planning on giving up on this right from when the mc got regressed to another body and the story goes with 80% plot and only 20% action. The plot all revolves around politics. Everything just went intriguing in the part where the mc finally achieved his second step of his plan. Is it the second step? The world building is very easy to adapt to since the content being added is slowly being introduced unlike other titles that just bombard you with shit.

Story starts with mc as the magic emperor in captivity. Apparently although there a title, birth right is still serves as a higher status. With mc being a commoner who rose to emperor due to his magic capability, there are still some who opposes him and even look down on him despite his very high status.

Also this is amazing as the magic realism is very well blended in. Commoners will be unable to read and war clans despite having a faction in equal to other nation are still illiterate when it comes to common knowledge, decency and most of all literacy (reading and writing). This idea is very well incorporated in the story.

Back to the story, while mc is being planned to be executed, a dear friend of his rescued him. This part got me confused but so far I understood most of it. Mc was rescued using means of time travel. Mc was supposed to go back in time, about a few days or months before. Instead, mc got regresses to a very far off time, 20 years or so, I think? And also, mc got regressed to a new body. same name but a different person.

Using the new person, a bastard son of a border count/margrave, mc is first belittled. But mc have all the common knowledge of a noble he once had and so, using his cunning mc device a plan to rose to the rank and got claim the margrave land to his own. all the while gaining allies, getting in advance the food product that will top the market and from being a bastard son to a viscount.

This all happened not without events. There were those who wanted to claim the lands themselves, mc made sure to deal with them, with blood and brilliancy. There are also the emperor's children mc had to be wary about, the neighboring country they had to deal with and other forces that wanted to push for mc's slavery and taking the land to their own. Mc dealt with all of them with great knowledge.

So far, mc had to use his own magic for a very few occasions. I'm at chapter 50, and so far I think there's less than 10 times mc had to use his magic vs others. This also include himself flexing. But as I said, the majority of the story will be the plot, which is the politics and the schemes. Everything is very intriguing and interesting that despite me wanting to read action genre, this had me kept on scrolling/reading.

After mc finally manage to get the land, as a bastard son of the previous land owner, the empire had mc tasked of paying a very high tribute. Mc uses his knowledge to amass fortune for the payment.

Currently, mc is helping a neighboring land which is almost similar to mc. The land has a cruel owner and one of the close relative wants to be placed in power. mc was able to help, since he is able to gain a solid ally due to this.

Mc also found out the reason why the empire is keeping a close warch on the borderlands, this is due to the magic stone veins or some sort. Mc confronts the captured imperial officer for a bit of questioning. chapter 61. these imperial officer tried to have mc assassinated but due to little authority have compared to them, instead of hasty execution, the imperial officers are being kept for a thorough investigation which will be coming from the empire. There are different factions in the empire, so understand that so far.
