1 mc goes to the hospital to check his bosy. he has a blockage disrase that won't let him use magic. he can't tell his sister, who is supposed to support him? back in school, mc got high mark on some subjects and a fail on magic subjects, that is currently his 4th time failing and the 4th time means expulsion. mc meets with a good friend, sean nemester, he invites mc to join a dragon expedition, in case mc find an artifact, the academy might not expel mc. mc checks the plan, he laughs and exclaims there is no nest in the location specified.
2 mc explains the dragon's nest is elsewhere. sean nemester sees the determination of his friend. he went to the dean to tell the mistake in the plan. the dean did not like it. mc enters the dean's office and tells it was him who told that there was a mistake. the dean then asks mc to have a bet. the dean would give all the resources to have mc form a team and go research and investigste and mc fails, he will have to give his family heirloom
3 mc's family heirloom is a symbol that one who has it is the head of their family. on their way to the dragon's nest. sean nemester reprimands mc. mc is glad that he has a good friend on his side. sean nemester was then surprised that mc is reading a forbidden book and is also learning/acquired a lost art. suddenly, they were stopped. a group of researchers asked by the dean are there to assist mc on his investigation. the two duo already sensed it was a plot to stop them. fortunately, mc got something literally underneath his sleeves. a researcher retreats and report this to the dean. despite this report, the dean is happy that mc will be succeed but he is somehow plotting something to acquire the heirloom of mc to become a prime minister.
4 on the site, the duo along with the research that was supposed to help them were there. they were planning to kill mc. as they venture inside, they find a dragon's door. mc stops the others from touching it. unfortunately, rivern, one of the researchers asked by the dead and have a somewhat fbad blood with mc, activates a trap. as they were being roasted alive, mc tries to disarm the trap.
5 mc successfully disarm the trap but not long after, they are once more getting attacked by another trap. using the magic items he had, he was able to disarm the next trap and was also able to open the dragon's door. there many treasures and magic items inside. as they celebrated, the researched made the duo get separated. as rivern took sean with him to investigate a dragon's bone, the other crew starts beating mc up. suddenly, the dragon bone came to life and obliterated one of the crew beating mc.
(during the trap disarming, mc is looking at things like a test to him and even after they gained access to the treasure room and even before and after their celebration)
6 despite being beat up, mc still orders the crew to take up defense vs the dragon as he tries to lead them to safety. suddenly, on their way out they got attacked by other guardians, spartois. suddenly, during the commotion, mc is able to see movement patterns (just like sharingan in naruto). mc led them outside the door. suddenly, rivern trips. mc notices it and is suddenly met with a decision to either save a nasty enemy or let him die. mc chose to be a hero.
7 mc managed to save rivern and even himself. the spartoi is blocked by a barrier which stopped them from getting outside the door. suddenly, the bone dragon comes rushing towards them. then the crew suddenly went to panic, apparently they were still being chased by the spartoi, and they started rushing out. in the midst of it, mc enters back into the treasure room. mc smiles at the worried sean as he tells his good friend to "go on ahead." the door closed and no matter what sean do, the door won't budge. sean vows to reacue him or at least tell mc's father. inside, mc faces vs the bone dragon. he noticed a dynamite sticking on the dragon's head. with a magic item he has and the sharigan skill he suddenly acquired, he faces the horde of spartoi and the bone dragon.
8 at this point, mc sees everythinf as the "dragon's test," it wasn't a dynamite, it was actually a lance embedded on the dragon's skull. mc holds the lance as the horde of the spartoi catches up on mc. suddenly, mc is transported to a different place. there is a battle that happening, a horned 8th circle sage fighting a dragon. the sage kills the dragon and spoke with mc. it referred to mc as a new vessel and the one who will set it free. suddenly shainark, the dragon seals the demon king mephistopheles. but it was in vain, since the demon king have found a vessel for him. as mc is getting consumed by the dark power/magic of the demon king, he remembers the many people who betrayed and turned their backs on them. mc vows to take revenge and bring back his family's name. suddenly, a spirit of some sort from mc, somehow unleashes a power and instead of getting consumed, it was the demon king who is being devoured.
9 the spirit talked to mc, they are a clan who's sole duty is the eradication of demons. the spirit tasked mc to continue eating demons and one day their descendant will inherit their will. mc wakes up and he's on a bed, beside him is a crying sean nemester. after a friendly reunion, sean updates mc. the dragon's nest they found belongs to mc, the one who discovered it, and the nemester family is guarding vs anyone who tries to enter it. mc asks sean to spread that he is comatose so that those who is seeking for the rights of the dragon's nest will continue to be desparate? as mc continues his rest in the household of the nemester, while he's alone, he spoke with the spirit of the demon king, mephistopheles/mephisto.
10 after mc woke up, even sean sees mc looking differently. somehow, mc acquires a dragon's heart. after having a chat with the spirit of mephistopheles, somehow it occured to mc, the family heirloom he has, contains a message from his grandfather, and that said heirloom is used to absorb demon kings. mc went to test out some of his theory. mc tried using magic and it work, what more is that it's dragon magic. even mephistopheles was surprised. mc felt relieved his sickness has now been cured and now he thinks of his vengeance.
11 while mc is away, sean and his servant, karl donitz handles the situation with the news of mc's coma and the dragon'st nest which mc have ownership rights. suddenly, sean's sister enter. she asks about mc and the rights to the dragon's nwat. sean says it will be up to mc when he wakes up. tasha leaves after ordering sean to tell her first once mc wakes up. the dean barracks plans on getting the right to the dragon's nest while also bring promoted. meanwhile, mc goes incognito. he is setting up the stage for the return of his family while getting stronger.
12 mc tries using different magic by dragon tongue magic soul speech. mephisto can't believe he is feeling amazed at an enemy of demons. mc ponders that in order for him to get steonger, he needs a teacher. he then realized that mephisto can teach him. on the other hand, mephisto really wanted to make mc his vessel. the demon king wants mc to beg so that he will teach mc black magic while at thw same time, incorporate some kind of enchantment? that will make mc easier to become a vessel. mc feels the demon king is making it harder, using his magic, he made the demon king, somehow, a condition hard to resist.
13 mc gave mephisto a pen and paper to teach him a bit magic, right now mephisto's speech is sealed. while mc practice other magic, mephisto wrote some magic while at ir, the demon king inserted curse magics? to make mc fall to it. when mc studies it, afterwards, there was nothing. mc found out of the curse. after, mephisto gave up and tells mc that the demon king have already taught mc he could learn at his level. mephisto suggest mc learn by experiexing/using what he knows in combat. mc remembers what his father said regarding melvinger using magics, practicing through combat. mc goes to one of the places his father told him about, land if yetis.
14 using magic, mc changed his appearance. mc went with a travel group to go through the yetis highland. aside from training? mc went their to find e legacy of their family ancestors. as the group rests, mc suddenly felt something, he told everyone to run.
15 a group of yetis launched an attackvs the travel group. some of their groups were holding their ground, while others were being beaten. mc noticed another group waiting. mc removes his disguise and launched an attack vs the ambushers using his magic.
16 with mephisto's aid as an interpreter, mc managed to talked with a captured yeti and led him to their village. when they got to the yeti village, mc spoke with the tribe chief. upon learning mc's family name, the tribe chief guide mc to their family ancestral hideout. it seems mc's ancestor was once a friend to the yeti king.
17 the yeti chief let mc go to the hideout alone. using the family heirloom, mc got to enter the hideout. it was filled with books. mc opens a book about the merbinger history. it has the duties of the merbinger to defeat demons and to eat them to make new magic. suddenly, he got transported to an open grass plain. mc meets with otto han merbinger, one of the descendant heads of their family. otto han will give mc a test in order to find out whether mc is rightfully to have power passed onto him.
18 mc accepts the trial. mc is sent to a cold mountain region? his trial will be vs the ice mountain king. mc must swallow the ice mountain king as his second demon to eat. otto han also tells mc that, he must junt down demon and swallow their seals. that way, mc will gain all the demon's abilitiea. otto han reminds mc to swallow and not defeat. to get to the king, mc must defeat the yeti warriors. mc feels like cheating if he uses mephisto's power but suddenly, it didn't go as he expects
19 mc gets overwhelem. mc knows that if he extract more mana from his acquired dragon heart, it would be dangerous for him at his current level. despite this, he must do it. mc acquires the essense/true name of the yetis, cruelty, but suddenly he collapsed.
20 mc woke up inside the hideput, mephisto was waiting for him. mc acquires an incomplete seal of cruelty from the yetis. mc asked for mephisto's seal but the demon king rejects it. it seems mc failed to capture and swallow the ice mountain king. mc asks mephisto for advice. afterwards, mc gets back on the trial and starts grinding. the trial is only a simulation, so mc won't die butbhe gets stronger
21 after losing several times and trying again and again, mc raised his level from 2 stars to three. during a bout with the ice mountain king, mc suddenly got a glimpse of the ice mountain king's past. how she got herself divined but she wanted to more, she wanted her race to return to beings demons, she wanted to become a demon king and she wanted mephisto's acknowledgement. but it was all thwarted whem the melbingers arrives.
22 mc suddenly got sympathetic to the ice king mountain's dreams. the memory continues with the ice mountain king being in an endless battle vs otto han merbinger, and the two are enjoying it. but when greed consumed the king further, otto han had to do the deed. suddenly, mc talked faced to face with a defeated ice mountain king, she praised mc for his greatness, she laments why she must go further if she could have just lived a peaceful life. suddenly, the greed return and starta consuming the calmed ice mountain king. mc readies for one last bout.
23 mc defeats the ice mountain king. the ice mountain king smiles as she disappears and turned to essence. mc absorbed it.
24 otto han congratulates mc for finishing the assignment within only a month. after leaving the simulation, mc mockingly teased mephisto for having a one sided unrequited love with the ice mountain king. mc saw a glimps of the king's past and she was haooy with otto han. later on, a scene of otto han bidding the ice mountain king a farewell as he remembers a bit of the past. it seems the ice mountain king got consumed by more demonic power/energy that it made her lose control and in the end killed her own tribe. in her final moments, the ice mountain king asked otto han to kill her.
